Omnia

Omnia: Paintings and Sculptures
A Trip into the Realm of Myth and Dreams

September 5, 1998 to January 10, 1999
Museum Bochum, Germany and Museum of Latin American Art, Long Beach, CA

This series of photographs was taken by Rolf Gross at MoLAA in Long Beach, CA in November 1998. Omnia means "everything". The exhibition in Long Beach covered 2 large rooms and their connecting hallways, an area of about 12,000 square-feet. The heads are about 8 feet high. They are made from papier maché in the fashion of Mexican piñatas and painted with oil paints and mixed media. Their models are the ancient "Olmec" heads of Mexico.
